In A Metal Web: The Art of Michael Manning - Tiger, Tiger ...

| I'm currently in the midst of a bunch of projects. I'll give more details as things progress.
There are several big piles of pencil drawings on my project table - mostly pieces I don't have room to pin up on my studio wall but that I'm afraid to file or put in my flat storage because I might lose track of them for another year or two. While trying to put the art chaos in some kind of order, I rediscovered several images I hadn't seen in quite a while, including this one drawn in 2005:

It was inspired by an Arabian Nights-style story fragment courtesy of fetish model and neo-Scheharazade Zille Defeu. If I remember correctly, it was about a female thief, disguised as a boy, who sneaks into the palace of a local sultan and is (of course) caught red-handed. When the sultan discovers her true gender, he decides to punish her by turning her over to his extremely horny pet tiger, with predictable results...

| Dude!
The guiche piercing alone has a story. :-)
Is this part of an illustrated story, or just a one-off? | | (Reply) (Thread) |

| | Zille told me the outline for the basic scenario and a few months later, I drew the drawing. I sent her a copy and kind of forgot about it until just recently. | | (Reply) (Parent) (Thread) |
| Oh, that's grand!
I love how her left shoe is coming off.
I'm with voidmonster. You would have to have some serious cojones to piece a tiger's scrotum! Love it. | | (Reply) (Thread) |
| Hot.
So are we seeing you and Lynn Sunday for a lil theatre? Maybe some Thai food beforehand? | | (Reply) (Thread) |

| | Hey Mandi - This sounded great but we were already booked for Sunday. We had artwork to drop off for a show, a birthday to celebrate and web site stuff to work on. Another time? I hope the show was fun. | | (Reply) (Parent) (Thread) |
| Another time sounds great.
It was better that you guys didn't come. It was really dreadful. Which is what I was afraid of. | | (Reply) (Parent) (Thread) |
| | Oh yeah - and we had to check out some kittens. Considering where this thread started, I can't believe I forgot about that. Maybe cuz it was feline cuteness overload rather than feline erotic. | | (Reply) (Parent) (Thread) |
| | None of the pictures of tigers that I looked at before doing this drawing showed their ball sacs so I just kind assumed that they were striped like the rest of their pelts and after I was informed that they weren't, I didn't really feel like changing it. To this day, I still haven't seen a tiger's balls but I guess they're just solid black or orange or something....? | | (Reply) (Parent) (Thread) |
| | I'm not debating whether it's true or not...I know I wouldn't dare get close enough to check. ;-) | | (Reply) (Parent) (Thread) |
| | They tend to have white fur back there, though there are variations (former tiger keeper here, hi!). | | (Reply) (Parent) (Thread) |
| | That is seriously fucked up. I love it :) | | (Reply) (Thread) |
| | Whoa. I love the piercings on the tiger - not just the ones on the cojones, but also the ones on his ears... Was this story ever completed? | | (Reply) (Thread) |

| | I had read somewhere that the ancient Egyptian nobility sometimes pierced their cat's ears which I thought was very cool and somewhat decadent. I figured a fantasy sultan might take things a step further. | | (Reply) (Parent) (Thread) |

| in the story though~ i'd probably lean more to the sultan not finding out the gender, and having that be a bit of a surprise! either way the horny tiger would indeed get his ardent cock, satisfied.
Excellent visual..yes, you are talented! Your details, such as the ones already mentioned-bring out the lust of creatures; all forms.
The other thing that really made me appreciate this work- I'm normally not a pink person, at all, and the light red/pink---a pastel; passive color normally- when used by so many,
but here the color enhances the active sexuality and violence of the image!
I like it. damn hot!
maggie.

| | Thanks. As I've noted in past entries, I usually do my underdrawings in red pencil and the final linework in black. Different types of red pencils tend to come out looking either pink or orange. I too am not crazy about pink but I prefer it to orange which looks too cartoony to me. | | (Reply) (Parent) (Thread) |
| | That was a pleasant surprise to see when I browsed my friends list this morning :) | | (Reply) (Thread) |
| I wandered over from the erosblog archives and I\m quite amused and impressed. I especially like the small details such as the stripes and ring on the tiger's testes. The pose for both of them is surprisingly spot-on as well. I say surprised only because not many people know what a quadruped of the canine or feline sort really look like when they're in the throes of humping things other than a leg.
*Grins* so bravo, and any more specific ideas on where I can find that story fragment? I think the rest of it would be even more amusing. | | (Reply) (Thread) |

| | When I was comparing Zille to Scheharazade, I meant it quite literally. She told me the basic plot line during a conversation and I drew the illo several months later. To my knowledge, it was never written down. | | (Reply) (Parent) (Thread) |
